The project

The internationally acclaimed landscape photographer Babuschkina was ready to match her brand appearance to her recent professional growth.

She contacted us to create a unique brand and web design that elevates her market appearance and provides a platform to showcase the beauty of her stunning landscape photos, allowing her to continue to grow her business.

The outcome

Babuschkina’s photography is breathtaking. Therefore, we made sure to make her photos stand out as much as possible throughout her web design. We opted for an overall mystique dark theme, which allows her colourful landscape photographs to take center stage. This colour theme is accompanied by bright accents sourced directly from Babuschkina’s photographs.

We chose three distinct typefaces to go with her brand and web design. While all sans-serif typefaces, their individual styles are unique and elegant, and therefore compliment this female photographer’s brand and web design beautifully.

The main header is set in Alta Font, a humanist typeface in all caps that embodies elegance with a touch of fierce femininity. Complimentarily, a stylized Alta font also forms the basis of Babuschkina’s new logo mark.

Sub-headers and body text are mainly set in Tenor Sans, another humanist sans-serif typeface optimized for print and web, which has excellent legibility characteristics in its letterforms. Supporting body text appears in an approachable, open, and friendly sans-serif typeface.

Babuschkina is very proud to be one of just a few successful women in landscape photography. She’s eager to spread the word and help fellow female landscape photographers from around the world reach their full professional potential. Therefore, we integrated a blog featuring Babuschkina’s knowledge and community offers, which are all part of her overall SEO strategy.

Babuschkina sells her prints via a third-party fulfillment service. We embedded this external shop on her subdomain and worked to ensure cohesive brand identity across this third-party platform to ensure a seamless user experience while browsing her website.

Additionally, Babuschkina handles direct sales of products which she hand-prints and ships from Switzerland herself. We created a second online shop within her website, where she regularly updates those special offers. One of which is her new merchandise calendar, which we designed for her as well.

In terms of further web strategy, we implemented several sales-focused pop-ups for desktop, mobile, and tablet, and integrated a cloud CRM behind all forms and submissions.
